Trip overview

The Pu Luong Nature Reserve is decorated with limestone landscape, mountains covered by primary forest and jungle. The mountain range takes a big part of the land and allows to create some hidden valleys in between.

Pu Luong in local language means “The highest peak in the area” and culminates at a height of 1700m. Nothing to compare with the high mountains of the far north in Lao Cai, Lai Chau or Ha Giang, however, the more reasonable scale in Pu Luong allows an easier access to a larger group of people.

Besides, Pu Luong is also called as “the small Sapa” due to rice field terraces sliding down the hills or in the valleys. As the altitude is lower, it seems less impressive as the one of Sapa but it finally creates a closer connection to the nature. Especially, each rice ponds are seperated by random stone walls in different sizes creating wilder shapes of beauty. The rice fields are disseminated in different areas.

On the east side of the Reserve, to fulfill and amplify the beauty and peacefulness of the area, the Ma river is crossing the valley, meandering between karst peaks. The local getting benefits of this natural resource to fish and irrigate the rice fields and different cultivations.

Some small streams, that can grow during the rainy season, can be found in many places inside the jungle creating some small waterfalls. Hieu village is the perfect example with the multi stairs waterfall along the village.

Itinerary

08:30 – 09:00 AM: Greet our tour guide at the meeting point and receive guidance for a full day of riding before embarking on a perfect ride with a local touch, to melt into the jungles and conquer the largest cave and waterfall in Pu Luong.

Begin with an exciting ride heading to Kho Muong village, ride through Bang village, experience a jungle ride, and contemplate one of the most captivating rice fields in Pu Luong.

Upon arrival at Kho Muong village – an isolated village of Thai People, your rider take you around to get a glance of local life and explore Bat cave, the largest cave in Pu Luong.

11:00 AM: Bid farewell to Kho Muong and continue your journey towards Hieu village. A leisurely ride through rural lanes, the motorbike offers the gift of a connection to nature in Pu Luong.

Lunchtime: Refreshing by the waterfall

Enjoy a short, refreshing walk to a unique waterfall nestled within the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Here, you will have a delightful lunch, surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Afternoon: Water wheels and return journey

After your meal, take some time to swim in the crystal-clear waters and explore local village life, immersing yourself in the charm of Pu Luong. Time to hop back on your motorbike to seek for water wheels in Pu Luong before making your way back to the hotel, ensuring you arrive by 4:30 PM for some self-relaxation.

Evening: Goodbye the local and tour guide

Drop you off at your hotel (optional) and bid farewell to the locals and tour guide. This marks the end of an enchanting day in Pu Luong by Easy Ride Motorbike.
